DDHK. ORG – Bilal and his reading are important during Friday prayers. People muslim must be very familiar with the stages and procedures for Friday prayers that are different from other prayers.

In Friday prayers, someone is designated as Bilal or also known as muraqqi. Bilal's job is to call out the call to prayer, iqamat, and call for the khatib to rise to the pulpit.

For those who want to know prayer and the procedure for becoming a Bilal Friday, let's take a look at this.

First, Bilal echoes the call to prayer

Reporting from Republika, before the khatib delivers the sermon, Bilal Friday will stand up to pronounce the first call to prayer facing the Qibla direction. When calling for this first call to prayer, Bilal is advised to extend his voice as a sign that it is time for Friday prayers.

After the call to prayer is finished, the Friday prayer will usually provide a time lag so that the Friday prayer congregation can perform the sunnah prayer of two cycles.

Second, Appeal to Khatib

After the congregation performs the sunnah prayers, the Friday bilal then stands in front of the pulpit facing the congregation while carrying a stick. Then, Bilal echoed the call as a sign for the preacher to go up to the pulpit to start the sermon. The following is an exclamation for the khatib:

(Ma'a syirol muslimin, wa zumrotal mu'minina rohimakumulloh, ruwiya 'an abi hurairota rodliyallohu'anhu annahu qoola, qoola rosulullohi shollallohu 'alaihi wa sallam idza qulta lishohibika yaumal jum'ati anshit, wal imaamu yakhtubu faqod laghout, anshitu wasma' u wa athi'u rohimakumulloh (2 times) Anshitu wasma'u wa athi'u la'alakum turhamun).

Meaning: "O groups of Muslims and believers, may Allah always give His grace to all of you. It was narrated from a friend of Abu Huraiarah ra, that Rasulullah SAW said: when you say "ansit" to your friends on Friday (Friday prayers), while the khatib is preaching, then you have done something in vain. Whoever does useless things, then there is no Friday for him, so pay attention to goodness and obey it, may Allah give it to you all."

Third, read sholawat and prayer

After finishing reciting the above reading, then Bilal Friday gave the stick to the khatib. After the khatib ascended the pulpit, Bilal recited the sholawat and recited the following prayer:

اللَّـٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ ٢× ، اللَّـٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا وَحَبِيبَِا فَا Amen

(Allahumma sholli 'ala sayyidina Muhammad (2 times) Allahumma sholli 'ala sayyidina wa habibinaa wa syafi'iina wa maulanaa Muhammadin wa sallim wa rodliyallohu tabaaroka wa ta'ala 'an saadatinaa ashaabi rosuulillahi ajma'in).

Meaning: "O Allah, give mercy and prosperity with Your majesty and perfection to Your noblest servant and our majesty, Muhammad, and all the companions of the Messenger of Allah."

After the khatib is on the pulpit, Bilal then faces the Qibla while reciting the following prayer:

O Lord قَوِّ اْلإِسْلاَمَ وَاْلإِيمَانَ، مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَالْمُسْلِمَاتِ، وَالْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤََْْ Amen ْرَ النَّاصِرِينَ، بِرَحْمَتِكَ يآأَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ

(Allohumma sholli wa sallim 'ala sayyidina wa maulana muhammadin wa 'ala aali sayyidina Muhammad, Allohumma qowwil islam wal iiman, minal muslimiina wal muslimaat, wal mu'miniina wal muslimaat, al ahya i minhum wal amwaat, wanshurhum 'ala mu'aniddiin robbikhtim lanaa minka bilkhoir, yaa khoironnaashiriin, burohmatica yaa arhamarroohimiin).

Meaning: "O Allah, strengthen Islam and the faith of the Muslims and Muslims, the believers and the believers, those who are still alive from all of them and also those who have died, make it easy for them to strengthen their religion, end our (life) from You with goodness, O God is the best helper, with Your mercy, O God, the Most Merciful of all the merciful."

After that, the preacher will then greet and sit on the pulpit.

Fourth, Bilal echoes the second call to prayer

After the khatib greets, Bilal for the Friday prayer will again call the call to prayer for the second time. However, this second call to prayer does not need to use a long tone like the first call to prayer.

After the call to prayer is finished, then the khatib stands to deliver his sermon for about 15 minutes. Then, when the khatib sits between the two sermons, Bilal for Friday prayers recites the following sholawat:

O Allah Amen

(Allahumma Sholli wa sallim, wa zid wa an'im wa tafadlol wa baarik, bi jalaalika wa kamaalika 'ala zaini 'ibadik, wa asyrofi 'ibadika, sayyidil 'arobi wal 'ajami, wa imaami thoibata walharomi, sayyidinaa wa maulanaa muhammadin wa ' ala aalihi wa shohbihii wa sallim wa rodhiyallohu tabaaroka wa ta'ala'an kulli shohaabati rosulillahi ajma'in).

It is a common sholawat reading. However, Bilal can also recite shorter blessings. After that, then the khatib will continue his second sermon or the last sermon.

Finally, Bilal echoes Iqamah

After the second Friday sermon, Bilal will stand up again to announce the iqamah so that the congregation will immediately get ready to carry out the Friday prayers. Bilal task was completed.

So, those are the readings and procedures for Friday prayers. Even if there is a difference, don't use it as an obstacle to performing the midday prayer in lieu of this midday prayer. [DDHK News]
