Hong Kong Tries Case of Mother Suspected of Killing 3 Daughters

The trial of the mother who allegedly killed her three daughters began at the Kowloon City magistrates' court on Monday, 12 June 2023. However, the trial of Aamina Rehman was adjourned until 26 June.

“The trial was adjourned for a psychiatric report because he was said to appear mentally ill and prone to violence. Aamina Rehman was brought in from Castle Peak Hospital yesterday,” reported The Standard.

Acting chief justice Peony Wong Nga-yan adjourned the trial until June 26. Because the prosecution of the 29-year-old woman is still waiting for two reports about whether she is fit to plead after symptoms of mental illness and violent tendencies were found at Castle Peak Hospital.

After yesterday's first trial, Aamina was then taken to the Siu Lam Psychiatric Center, or the Siu Lam Psychiatric Center.

He was charged with three counts of murder for allegedly suffocating his three daughters, Bibi Aafia Jameel (two years), Jameel Raina Ur Raheema (four years), and Jameel Aayat Ur Rahmah (five years), with a pillow in the flat located at 115 Kweilin Street, Sham Shui Po, on June 5.

This case shocked Hong Kong and received the attention of many parties. Including, from among Indonesian migrant workers who gave many comments and helped make the tragedy viral.
