GM DDHK Attends the 11th Anniversary of the Islamic Ukhuwah Council

DDHK.ORG - General Manager Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong, Ustadz M. Imam Baihaqi, Sunday (27/9/2020), attended the 11th anniversary of the Ukhuwah Islamiyah Council (MUI) in Yuen Long. The event which was coupled with the inauguration of the new board was also attended by several officials from the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) Hong Kong, such as the Indonesian Police Consul Wahyudi and Manpower Consul Erga Grenaldi, as well as the Chairman of the Executive Branch of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PCINU) Hong Kong Special Branch, Kistiawanto.

On that occasion, Ustadz Imam Baihaqi conveyed his tausiyah about the importance of morals in leadership. "One of the missions of the Prophet Muhammad SAW is to improve human morals. Morals are very important for our lives, especially in interacting with each other. Rasulullah has set an example of leadership with noble character, ”he said.

Rasulullah's Example in Running the Wheel of Organization

Ustadz Imam hopes that the new MUI administrators can emulate the Prophet in running the organization. He also quoted Dr. Mustafa Murad, who describes the four main characteristics of the Prophet Muhammad SAW which also reflects his morals.

First, shiddiq (honest). Honesty is one of the qualities a leader must possess. Namely, he must have the courage to convey the truth as it is.

Second, trustworthy (trustworthy). This means that as long as a manager must be able to hold and carry out the trust received from many people properly.

Third, fathanah (smart and wise). Being a leader, said Ustadz Imam, must be smart. "If someone asks about religious issues, makes a complaint, or someone is arguing, he can give a good answer," said Ustadz Imam.

Fourth, tabligh (convey). This trait must also be possessed by someone who has been given the mandate as a leader.

When delivering his remarks, Consul Agung Wahyudi reminded Indonesian migrant workers to be careful and not to be easily tricked by people over the phone. Including, do not be easy to believe if someone claiming to be from the Police, Immigration Officers, Customs and Excise Officers, or who claim to be from the offices of the Indonesian Migrant Workers Placement (P3MI) contact by telephone and claim that you have received a prize money or a lottery.

“If you believe, the caller will manipulate us, will blackmail you with various tricks, and the promised prize money will never exist, because such mode is fraud. Confirm to the bank or the Consulate General if there is such news, "said the Supreme Consul.

On the same occasion, the Consul Erga Grenaldi conveyed the legal work process from P3MI to the destination country. He also mentioned the term "calling visa" which is often discussed by Indonesian migrant workers in Hong Kong.

“If you have been at home for one year and want to return to Hong Kong again, that is not a calling visa. Those like that have to follow the initial process again like people who have never been here, "said the Consul Erga. [Lina]

Hopefully MUI is More Defined and the Management is Trustworthy

Mira, Chairperson of the MUI for the 2019-2020 period, hopes that the new board of the council he has led will be entrusted with carrying out management. He also hopes that the new management for the 2020-2021 period can become good leaders and can invite Indonesian migrant workers in Hong Kong, especially in Yuen Long, to jointly seek knowledge in the 11-year-old assembly.

"Hopefully our assembly will be more blessed, the management is istikomah and more compact in advancing this assembly together," said Mira.

Muawanah, the new chairman of MUI, welcomed this hope. "Hopefully my management can be trustworthy, mentally strong, and be able to carry out, continue and complete programs that have been started in the previous management," he said. [Lina / DDHK News]
