DDHK.ORG - RIA restaurant located in Causeway Bay is quite popular with migrant workers Indonesia. Hans Aditya, the boss of the restaurant, has now returned to his country and lives in his hometown, Surabaya, East Java.

Seeing the number of people who are undergoing self-isolation (isoman) in the city of Surabaya, Hans and his friends' social concerns were called to help them. "The assistance we provide is in the form of healthy food consisting of vegetables, protein, and fruit," said Hans, when contacted by DDHK News.

"The goal is to support the nutrition of isoman friends who can't afford it or who are in the same household are affected by Covid-19," he said.

He carried out this social action from July 17 to July 25, 2021. Hans and his friends coordinated with their friends who are used to doing social actions by providing assistance on the streets entitled "Jumat Berkah".

"We are also coordinating with RW administrators and the Covid-19 Task Force (Task Force) in the environment that allow us to help without conditions. We carried out this action in the East Surabaya area, in South Semolowaru," said Hans.

This social action was carried out because Hans and his friends were concerned about the reality that existed in the midst of society during the Delta variant of the Covid-19 outbreak. Hans witnessed himself, many people living around his residence in Surabaya were infected with Covid-19.

“Sad news everywhere. While much of the sad news is caused by the inability of hospitals to accommodate. Coupled with PPKM which limits the scope of livelihood, plus the complaints of some people we meet in the neighborhood where we live. The pandemic plus the economic crisis is complete," he said.

Still waiting for PPKM to end

Among Indonesians in Hong Kong, Hans is known as one of the owners of an Indonesian restaurant who is quite friendly to his restaurant visitors. Hans founded the RIA restaurant in Causeway Bay since April 2014. "But because there was an operational permit problem, the grand opening was only really in June 2014. That's why we always make birthday promotions between April and June," he said.

RIA restaurant he ran in Hong Kong for 7 years. Unfortunately, the restaurant had to be closed, even though it already has many loyal customers and visitors who always come to enjoy the chicken and duck penyet which is the hallmark of the restaurant, which is located in one of the markets in Causeway Bay.

"We were hit by the storm of demonstrations and the Covid-19 outbreak, we finally decided to withdraw until conditions allowed again," he said.

After closing his restaurant in Causeway Bay and returning to Surabaya, Hans admitted that he had not been able to continue the culinary business he had started in the City of Heroes before the Covid-19 outbreak. The reason is the epidemic condition that has not been resolved.
