HONG KONG - Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong (DDHK) was founded in April 2004. The purpose of its establishment is to increase the spread of Islam through maximizing the role of zakat, infaq, alms and waqaf (ZISWAF) funds in Hong Kong.
To achieve the goal of its establishment, DDHK formed several operational divisions. Namely, the Division of Da'wah, Advocacy, Health, and the Division of Fund Rising or Fundraising.
"The DDHK Fund Rising Division team is coordinated by Purwantini. The fundraising mandate is carried out by the Fund Rising team every Sunday, by spreading to various regions: Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories, ”said Puji, a member of the DDHK fund rising team.
By bringing a special fund rising box, each team member met Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) who were on vacation and wanted to leave their zakat, donations and alms to DDHK, to be distributed in the form of da'wah and social humanitarian activities.
"Hopefully this fund rising box will later become a witness to all friends' acts of worship and become a weight weigher in the hereafter," said Puji.
On Sunday (29/9/2019), the fund rising team will maximize the task of collecting donations. This is because today many of our brothers and sisters in the country need help, for example our brothers in Sumatra and Kalimantan who are still struggling to fight the smoke caused by forest and land fires there. Also, our brothers who were victims of the earthquake in Ambon.
"So, let's set aside our assets to share with those who are currently in desperate need of our help and helping hand," said Puji.
Donating just got easier
DDHK provides several ways for PMI in Hong Kong to pay zakat, donations, alms and donations. All of this was done to make it easier for PMI Hog Kong.
PMI who wish to make donations can come directly to the DDHK office in Causeway Bay (the location of the DDHk office is as shown in the location map image above). Or, meet the DDHK rising fund team who tour, stay in touch, and meet PMI in parks and gathering places while on vacation.
If these two methods are not possible, PMI Hong Kong can also donate via TNG and 7-Eleven accounts (the method is shown in the main image of this article). Especially for As2in1 phone card users, they can donate via SMS.
