“There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are messengers of overwhelming grief… and unspeakable love, ” said Washington Irving, quoted thinkexist.com.

Irving said, there is holiness (sacredness) in tears. Crying is not a sign of weakness, but of strength. Cries speak more fluently than ten thousand tongues. "Those tears are a messenger of great sorrow ... and unspeakable love."

Crying is Good for Health

Crying is also good for health. According to biochemist, Dr. William Frey, crying can make a person feel better because the tears that come out function "to remove nervous tension in the body" which is one of the causes is stress because of being burdened with problems.

In Islamic literature, crying is also healthy for spirituality. Crying is a habit of pious people, namely crying because of Allah SWT.

Rasulullah SAW said: "There are two eyes that will not be touched by the fire of hell: eyes that cry out of fear of Allah and eyes that are watchful at night because they guard the defense of the Muslims in [jihad] in the way of Allah" (HR. Tirmidhi). Allah knows best. (ed / ddhongkong.org). *
