Juanda Airport Has Reopened for Migrant Workers and International Flights

DDHK.ORG - On January 1, 2022 the Head of the Task Force (Satgas) for Handling COVID-19, Suharyanto, signed Decree Number 1 of 2022 concerning Entry Points, Quarantine Places, and RT-PCR Obligations for Citizens Indonesia (WNI) Foreign Travel Actors. Through this decision, the Task Force set entry points to the territory of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) for Indonesian citizens traveling abroad through nine points, either by land, sea, or air.

One of them, Juanda Airport, East Java. That way, Indonesian migrant workers from East Java who return from abroad can take direct flights to Juanda Airport.

Besides Juanda, the other 8 points are Soekarno Hatta Airport, Banten; Sam Ratulangi Airport, North Sulawesi; Batam Port and Tanjungpinang Port, Riau Islands; Nunukan Harbor, North Kalimantan; Aruk Cross-Border Post (PLBN) and Entikong PLBN, West Kalimantan; and Motaain PLBN, East Nusa Tenggara.

Indonesian citizens traveling abroad are required to quarantine. Quarantine period of 14×24 hours applies to Indonesian citizens from the country/region of origin of arrival with three criteria. Namely, has confirmed community transmission of the new variant SARS-CoV-2 B.1.1.529; geographically adjacent to the country of community transmission of cases of the new variant of SARS-CoV-2 B.1.1.529; and the number of confirmed cases of SARS-CoV-2 B.1.1.529 is more than 10 thousand cases. Meanwhile, Indonesian citizens from countries/regions of origin other than these criteria are required to quarantine for a period of 10×24 hours.

He emphasized that foreign travelers will quarantine in a centralized quarantine accommodation whose services include lodging, transportation, meals, and RT-PCR costs. Namely:

  1. DKI Jakarta: Pademangan Athlete House, COVID-19 Emergency Hospital (RSDC) Kemayoran Athlete House, Nagrak Cilincing Flats, and Manggarai Grass Market Flats;
  2. Surabaya: Surabaya Embarkation Hajj Dormitory, Education Quality Assurance Institute (LPMP) East Java, Education and Training Center (Badiklat) Surabaya Ministry of Religion, Vini Vidi Vici Hotel, Grand Park Hotel Surabaya, Hotel Sahid, Hotel 88 Embong Malang, BeSS Mansion Hotel, Hotel Zest Jemursari, Hotel Bisanta Bidakara, Hotel Fave Hotel Rungkut, Hotel Life Style Hotel, Hotel Delta Sinar Mayang Sidoarjo, Hotel Zoom Jemursari, Hotel 88 Kedungsari, Hotel 88 Embong Kenongo, Hotel Pop Station Kota, Hotel Pop Gubeng, and Hotel Cleo Jemursari ;
  3. Manado: Hajj Tuminting and Badiklat Maumbi Dormitory;
  4. Batam: BP Batam Flats, Batam City Government Flats, Putra Jaya Flats, Hajj Dormitory, and Post Shelters for the Placement and Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (P4TKI);
  5. Tanjung Pinang: Tanjung Pinang Trauma Center Protection House (RTPC) and Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP2MI) Shelter;
  6. Nunukan: Nunukan Regional Government Flats;
  7. Entikong: Entikong International Freight Terminal (TBI), Indonesian Job Training Unit (ULKI), and Entikong Port Health Office (KKP) Building;
  8. Aruk: Regional Personnel Agency (BKD) Training and Education Building, Sambas City Hajj Dormitory, Aruk PLBN Wisma, and Brimob Dormitory;
  9. Motaain: Battalion Battalion RK 744/SYB; or
  10. Other quarantine accommodation places determined by the Head of the Regional COVID-19 Handling Task Force based on recommendations from the COVID-19 Handling Task Force.

The centralized quarantine place for Indonesian citizens traveling abroad is only intended for Indonesian citizens traveling abroad as follows:

  1. Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) who return to Indonesia to stay at least fourteen days in Indonesia;
  2. Students who return to Indonesia after completing their education or carrying out study assignments abroad;
  3. Government employees who return to Indonesia after carrying out official trips abroad; and
  4. Indonesian representatives in international competitions or festivals.
