DDHK News, UK - British Muslim TV, a new channel for British Muslims, will air this month. Unlike the previous Muslim-only television channels, British Muslim TV is fully funded by the Muslim community in Britain. In fact, all program financing does not rely on funds from abroad.
Television will broadcast on the platform British Sky. The entire content is distinct, and truly reflects the British Muslim community, with a tag line Confident Muslim, Comfortable UK.
British Muslim TV's Marketing and Communication Director, Wasim Akhtar, said the concept for this TV channel was created late last year. "Planning was done in early 2014, and we will immediately market the ad slots," he said.
British Muslim community television is not new, but has been around since 2004. Islam Channel is one of them, and most prominent, because it is free and broadcasts via satellite. Other channels are Noor TV, Peace TV, and Iqra TV.
