South Korea Participates in Commemorating the 78th Indonesian Independence Day

The 78th Independence of the Republic of Indonesia is not only commemorated by Indonesians around the world. The towers at Seoul City Hall and South Korea's Namsan Tower also look sparkling with red and white lights, inscribed with the commemoration of the 78th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia on Friday (17/8/2023).

The red and white lights illuminate the City Hall Building at 20.00-22.00 local time. Meanwhile, the red and white light beam on Namsan Tower takes place at 19.00-23.00.

“The 78th anniversary of Indonesia's Independence day [Indonesia's 78th anniversary of independence],” read the inscription from the light on the tower.

In addition to the red and white lights that read the logo commemorating the 50th anniversary of friendship between Indonesia and Korea, it was also displayed. The celebration was a collaboration between the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Seoul and the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

"Both are well-known tourist sites and are frequently visited by local and foreign tourists," said the Indonesian Ambassador to South Korea, Gandi Sulistiyanto, in an official statement.
