DDHK.ORG - A total of 22 Indonesian migrant workers in Hong Kong passed and graduated for junior high school (SMP) and senior high school (SMA) levels. The graduation procession was carried out by Dompet Dhuafa (DD) University on Sunday (4/10/2020) at the Symposium Room, 6th floor of the Ammar Mosque, Wan Chai.
The graduated migrant workers were 5 students from the Package B School program (equivalent to SMP) and 17 students from the Package C School program (equivalent to SMA) Batch IV. The graduation ceremony was attended by the General Manager Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong (DDHK), M. Imam Baihaqi, and teacher of the DDHK Package School class, Ema Apriyani.

The graduation ceremony applies health protocols to prevent Covid-19 transmission. Namely, checking body temperature, providing hand sanitizers, using masks, and the sitting position of the participants who are about 1 meter away.
The graduation procession was led by Imam Baihaqi and his wife, Mother Nurcholifah. On that occasion, the Imam also symbolically handed over his alma mater jacket and study modules to new students DDHK School Package Generation V. Imam also symbolically handed over a laptop to Kandiyah, namely the graduates with the highest exam scores.

In his remarks, Imam Baihaqi emphasized the importance of education as one of the keys to breaking the chain of poverty. For that, he reminded migrant workers who have married families to really pay attention to the education of their children.
"At least, one of them can be a bachelor. It's not about the title, but the mindset can develop and the network will be wider, so that the potential to get a job will be easier, "said Imam.
On the same occasion, Ema Apriyani congratulated the students who graduated. "Hopefully the knowledge will be useful for society, themselves and everyone. Hopefully, other diplomas will be achieved soon, "he said.
The graduation ceremony for Hong Kong migrant workers was also filled with online educational and motivational seminars from Jakarta. Fatchuri Rosidin, as the sole speaker, delivered the seminar material with the theme Seeking Happiness in the Overseas Lands.

Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Hong Kong, Ricky Suhendar, congratulated the students of the Package B and C Batch IV School programs in 2020 for their graduation. He also appreciated the hard work of migrant workers who continue to have their tireless enthusiasm to study.
