DDHK.ORG - Nahdlatul Ulama Special Branch Manager (PCINU) Hong Kong, on Sunday, 22 August 2021, then held the 3rd Special Branch Conference (Konfercab) at its new office, Mushalla An-Nahdlah, Causeway Bay. At the conference, Suparno was elected as the new Hong Kong PCINU Syuriah Rois, replacing Nur Rohman. Meanwhile, Kistiawanto, who served as Chairman of Tanfidziyah for the solemn period of 2018-2020, was re-elected to lead NU Hong Kong for the solemn period of 2021-2023.
The process of selecting the new captain of the Hong Kong Nahdlatul Ulama took place in several stages. First, determine the members of Ahlul Halli Wal Aqdi (AHWA). Konfercab appointed Teguh Subaryanto, Puguh Hari Setiawan, Suparno, Samson, Kistiawanto, and Khozim as members of AHWA.
Furthermore, AHWA appointed Suparno alias Anas as Rois Syuriah. "The court hereby decides to appoint Suparno as the Rois Syuriah of the Hong Kong PCINU for the solemn period of 2021-2023," said Teguh Subaryanto, chairman of the session.
After that, the election of the Chairperson of Tanfidziyah was carried out by 50 participants who had voting rights. Namely, representatives from 11 Branch Representative Councils (MWC) and 39 representatives from Branch assemblies.
In the election process, Kistiawanto won with 36 votes over Ahmad Ghozali who pocketed 12 votes. "We, as the bearers of the mandate of NU Hong Kong for the solemn period of 2018-2020, would like to express our gratitude once again to all asatidz/kiai who sincerely and sincerely share knowledge with the residents of Nahdliyin Hong Kong. Likewise to all donors who contributed to the success of NU's gait in the symbols of Islam in the Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaah brotherhood. Also, all Hong Kong Nahdliyin residents who work hand in hand to make NU Hong Kong's work program successful. Hopefully what is given to us will make a sustainable charity field," said Kistiawanto, while giving a speech after being elected for the second time as Chair of the Hong Kong PCINU Tanfidziyah.
The previous solemn period of management should have ended in 2020. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic that has hit the whole world, the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) has several times extended the solemn period of NU management abroad, including Hong Kong. Until finally, PBNU issued a final circular requiring all PCINU to hold a Special Conference by September 2021 at the latest.

The Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia, Ricky Suhendar, directly attended the activities of this Special Conference and gave the opening remarks. In addition, the event was also attended by PBNU Chairs KH Robikin Emhas and KH Muhammad Nabil Haroen, members of the Hong Kong PCINU Mustasyar who also served as General Chairperson of NU Pagar Nusa Pencak Silat and members of Commission 9 of the Indonesian House of Representatives in charge of manpower. Both were present online via the Zoom application and also gave remarks.
Several members of the Hong Kong PCINU Mustasyar who currently live in Indonesia also attended through the Zoom application. Namely, the former Consul for Manpower at the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong, Sholahuddin; former Director of BNI Remittance Limited in Hong Kong, Agus Prasetyo; Hong Kong and Macau NU pioneer, Hafid Ismail; and the former Chairman of the Hong Kong PCINU Tanfidziyah for the 2016-2018 solemn period, Abdul Razak. The demisionary Rois Syuriah PCINU Hong Kong, Nur Rohman, was also present via Zoom.
Several MWC and Branch representatives who were unable to attend the location were also allowed to cast their votes through the WhatsApp application during the election of the Tanfidziyah Chair. Witnessed by several witnesses, their choices were rewritten on the voting paper to be put into the ballot box.
