How to Repent for an Emotional Wife and Had Asked for Divorce to Husband

DDHK.ORG - How to Repent for an Emotional Wife and Had Asked for Divorce to Husband

Peace, mercy and blessings of God

Ustadz, I want to ask a question.

What is the ruling on a wife asking for a divorce from her husband? Maybe because there is a problem or because they can't contain their emotions, finally words that are not polite or inappropriate to say to their husbands.

While the wife now realizes and wants to apologize to her husband, she doesn't want to say those words again.

How can a wife ask forgiveness from Allah for telling her husband to divorce her? Please answer explanation as well as guidance.

Thank you, Ustadz.

Greetings, Fulanah

ANSWER:

ليكم السلام الله ات

Bismillah... My sister who is blessed by Allah.

Being a wife has the consequence of being obedient to her husband, respecting him by speaking kind and polite words.

Every problem has a solution and a solution. Including, in household matters. A woman must be a good and pious wife for her husband.

Intend that marriage is worship, so that we will always need God by always wanting to worship throughout our lives, including serving our husbands well. Remember, every difficulty has been promised an ease.

Allah Subhanahu wata'ala says:

(فَإِنَّ لۡعُسۡرِ ا (٥) لۡعُسۡرِ ا (٦)

"So verily with hardship there is ease (5) Verily with hardship there is ease (6)." {Surat Ash-Syarh: 5-6}

Of course there are problems at home. However, dealing with problems must be wise without relying on momentary emotions, especially until the wife asks for a divorce from her husband, or the husband drops his wife for divorce.

Don't let us regret our actions. If indeed the problem faced is still natural and normal, dealing with it with a cool head and calm heart will certainly be better.

If indeed a wife is just purely angry and says words asking for divorce from her husband, and then she regrets it, then immediately repent to Allah, apologize to her husband, and promise not to do it again. And don't forget to always ask Allah to take care of us.

Fear Allah's threat about a wife who asks for a divorce from her husband without a clear reason as stated in the hadith narrated from Thauban radliyallahu anhu, the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said:

ا امرأة لت ا لاقاً ام ليها ائحة الجنة (رواه اود الترمذي ابن اجه)

"Any woman who asks (demands) her husband for a divorce without a justified reason, the smell of heaven is forbidden to her." (Narrated by Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, & Ibn Majah)

Wallâhu a'lam bish-showâb.

Hope it works!

Peace, mercy and blessings of God
