"It is intended that panjenengan (you) have accepted Islam as a religion of panjenengan, nggeh. Don't think Islam is a harsh religion. Islam is a religion of love, "said Ustadz Mahmud.
Ratna claimed to have experienced extraordinary inner experiences, which cannot be described in words, while uttering two sentences of the creed. "When I said the creed, I was excited and cried with emotion, happy. For some reason, I was moved, sad and happy. Anyway, I can't say anything. There were many congregants who were crying seeing me, ”he said.
Ratna is an Indonesian migrant worker who has only worked for eight months in Hong Kong. He admitted that he was interested in Islam since he was in high school. However, he did not get permission from his mother when expressing his intention to convert to Islam.
"I have been determined and interested in converting to Islam for a long time. At that time I asked permission from my mother, but it was not allowed. My mother was also a Muslim. But now I am in Hong Kong, my mother allows me, ”said Ratna.
"I live and study in Lampung. There are no Christian schools there. All Islamic schools. Starting from kindergarten, elementary, to high school I went to the Muhammadiyyah school. I have known Islam from a young age and now my heart is very confident in Islam, "he said.
The second child of three siblings deliberately chose Hong Kong for shahadat, because he considered Hong Kong a safer and more comfortable place to study Islam and practice its teachings seriously. This is because in Indonesia all his families are non-Muslim. "I will find it difficult to worship. There must be many obstacles and debates, ”said Ratna.
