Tips so you don't get weak while fasting

DDHK.ORG - The month of Ramadan is coming soon. We have to prepare everything for fasting. Including, physical readiness.

Often, we feel weak and less energetic when fasting. Some of us, feel sleepy and end up sleeping all day until before Maghrib time arrives.

To quote a clinical nutritionist, Putri Sakti, Indonesian CNN provide tips to keep the body fit and in shape during fasting. "It's normal to feel weak or feel unfit. But there is a key so that the body stays fit even when fasting," said Putri in a Shopee Talk which was held online, Tuesday (29/3/2022).

First, meet daily nutrition. Never skip breakfast and iftar. "Sometimes, I like to be lazy for sahur. Do not! Don't skip this suhoor, because it's important that your body doesn't go limp all day," said Putri.

Second, Pay attention to the food you eat. “You should eat nutritious food, there are nutrients, there are carbohydrates, there are fats, there are fiber, because these are all important. But don't overdo it," he said.

Third, Pay attention to food when breaking the fast. Instead, avoid eating directly in large portions when breaking the fast. “For example, when breaking the fast, drinking water and fruit or a few dates, giving a break, praying first. Well, after that, you can eat big, but don't overdo it. Don't go crazy, okay?" said Putri.

Fourth, fill your water intake. A minimum of 8 glasses must still be filled. We are advised to apply the 2-4-2 method to meet fluid intake. Drink 2 glasses when breaking the fast, 4 glasses in between meals, and 2 glasses at dawn. "So the need for eight glasses per day can still be met," he said.

Fifth, sleep enough. For example, avoid sleeping at night above 22.00 WIB. In addition, you can also take time to nap for 30-60 minutes during the day.

Sixth, keep exercising. During this month of Ramadan, we can do light exercise such as a leisurely walk for 30-35 minutes. "Exercise can be done before breaking the fast," said Putri.  [DDHKNews]
