Dompet Dhuafa Provide a warm post for the evacuation team around Mount Merapi

DDHK.ORG - Based on the latest report on the eruption alert response of Mount Merapi DMC Dompet Dhuafa (DD), as of Tuesday (17/11/2020), DD provided various daily needs for the refugees. DD also prepared an evacuation team to secure refugees and livestock belonging to residents affected by the eruption of Merapi.

As is known, Mount Merapi erupted on November 5, 2020, around 12:00 WIB. This incident had a direct impact on the community in several areas in Yogyakarta and Central Java.

Merapi has the status of Alert (level III)

Currently, Merapi has the status of Alert (level III). Regarding that status, Sleman Regency Government (DIY) issued an Emergency Response status, until November 30, 2020. Meanwhile, the Magelang Regency Government (Central Java) conducted the first phase of self-evacuation of 607 vulnerable groups. Together with Magelang Regency, two districts in Central Java, namely Boyolali and Klaten, are processing Emergency Response Decrees.

There are several emergency matters that are urgently needed by the displaced residents. Among them are toddler equipment, baby food, side dishes, hand sanitizer, hand washing place, warm post, toiletries, basic necessities, mineral water, floor mattresses, kitchen spices, fruits, eucalyptus oil, and toddler bedding.

Response Dompet Dhuafa

In response, Dompet Dhuafa established several relief posts around Mount Merapi. At the Tamanagung post, Muntilan, DD sent two volunteers. Activities carried out on Tuesday (17/11/2020), cooking and distributing food to the evacuation posts.

For monitoring the Magelang area, DD sent three volunteers. Several activities were carried out on Tuesday, including dropping logistics at the Ngrajek Warm Post, making trash bins, and coordinating the Sengi post.

DD also deployed a Medical Team consisting of three people. His job is to coordinate with village officials and midwives at Sengi Village, Dukun District, Magelang.

In particular, at Ngrajek Warm Post, which is located in Ngrajek Village, Mungkid District, Magelang, DD sent a volunteer. On Tuesday, the activities carried out were stocking up drinks and snacks at the Warm Post, standby at the warm post at the Magelang refugee camp, and digging up information about the needs of evacuation supporters (medical, evacuation, and Warm Post).

At the Balerante Village Hall, Kemalang, DD also deployed four volunteers. The activities carried out on Tuesday included shopping for hot post needs, cleaning the location of the warm post, ensuring supplies of tea, coffee, sugar, and others, as well as asking about the location and condition of livestock in the Balerante livestock pen.

Warm post Dompet Dhuafa provides some needs for drinks and snacks, in the form of coffee, tea, sugar, white milk, chocolate milk, Milo milk, biscuits, gallon water, and glass bottled mineral water.

Meanwhile at the Glagaharjo post which is located in Cangkringan, Sleman, DD sent three volunteers. Among their activities on Tuesday is holding a simple cooking class menu activity: Sushi Bread.

At this post, DD also deployed six evacuation team volunteers. They are on standby at the post and coordinating with the Sleman Agriculture Service to evacuate the animal feed in Kalitengahlor. A total of five volunteers at this post also held watching activities together with the children.

In Boyolali, DD's medical team coordinated with the Puskesmas Selo District and the village midwives at Posko Klakah and Posko Telogolele. A team of four people provides medical services at this post.

In locations affected by the eruption of Merapi, Dompet Dhuafa fielded unimogs, tactical vehicles, and all train ambulances. DD also deployed a total of 21 personnel, including assessment, SAR, logistics, medical and tactical teams.

The logistics assistance that DD has distributed to the refugees includes 10 boxes of gray masks (14.000 pcs), 1 package of cloth masks (808 pcs), 5 boxes of mosquito nets (56 pcs), 10 boxes of vixals (240 pcs), 10 boxes of liquid Lux ​​soap (240 pcs), and 10 boxes of Rinso (120 pcs). DD also provides supporting equipment which includes 2 units of disinfectant sprays, 1 tube sprayer, 5 liters of Chamber liquid, 4 liters of pure Perosycline (room disinfectant liquid), 1 set of clean antenna, 1 set of pastas lamps, and 2 units of generators.
