August 2020 Report: DDHK Continues to Hold Da'wah and Social Programs during an Outbreak

DDHK.ORG - Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong (DDHK), Friday (18/9/2020), submitted a report on dakwah and social humanitarian activities throughout August 2020. Including reports of receiving public funds and their distribution in the form of programs and activities.

"This is a monthly report that we publish as the responsibility of the institution to donors, the public and the people," said the General Manager of DDHK, M. Imam Baihaqi.

DDHK reported that it received zakat payments of HK $ 11,347 throughout August 2020. DDHK also received infaq deposits from the public of HK $ 57,213 and waqf of HK $ 16,182.

The total, public funds received in August was HK $ 84,742. "That way, the accumulated revenue during January-August 2020 is HK $ 1,119,088," said Imam Baihaqi.

DDHK Program Report August 2020

During the Covid-19 outbreak, DDHK continued to carry out various da'wah programs. However, some activities were adjusted according to the situation, by organizing them online. Among them, daily tausiyah messages through the WhatsApp group, Clinic Alquran Sunday morning, online study on Sunday afternoon, Expatriate Study Tuesday afternoon for mothers, Expatriate Study Friday night for fathers, and Children's TPQ on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

"We also provide an Online Consultation program via the WhatsApp application for Indonesian migrant workers in Hong Kong and Macau," said Imam.

In the social sector, in August DDHK continued to make prison visits, namely to Lo Wu Correctional Institution. While at the shelter, DDHK received an additional 2 Indonesian migrant workers who needed temporary housing. So that in total, there are 4 migrant workers who are currently served at the DDHK shelter.

Apart from providing assistance to Indonesia. Namely, medical assistance for ex-migrants in Kediri, assistance with school fees in Temangggung, assistance with reading books in Pandeglang, and financial assistance to the orphanage in Ponorogo.

In August there is also animal distribution sacrifices of 74 goats and 9 cows to West Java, East Java, Maluku, East Nusa Tenggara and Riau.
