DDHK Launches Member Card with Octopus Card Function

DDHK.ORG - Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong (DDHK), on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, officially launched the membership card. Cool, this membership card has an Ocotpus Card function.

“DDHK members are citizens Indonesia domiciled in Hong Kong and actively contribute and participate in DDHK activities,” said DDHK General Manager, M. Imam Baihaqi.

This membership card, which also functions as an Octopus Card, can be used to pay for public transportation costs such as buses, trams, ferries, and MTR trains, shopping, and other payments with Octopus services. "So, this card is exactly the same as the Octopus Card, only with a special design made by DDHK," said Imam.

The design is intentionally made with Batik nuances. The goal, said Imam, is to bring Indonesia's original culture to Hong Kong. Besides, it is also to treat the members' longing for Indonesia.

Why was Octopus Card chosen for DDHK membership card? “Because we know, it can be said that almost everyone who lives in Hong Kong uses the Octopus Card for their daily needs. So God willing, this will be very useful for members Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong, said Imam Baihaqi.

With this card, DDHK members are expected to be more active in participating in activities organized by DDHK on their holidays. So, the available vacation time can be used for useful things.

Very Useful and Very Indonesian!

The procurement of this card received appreciation from DDHK members. Puji, a member of the DDHK Volunteer Team, said that he was happy with this membership card.

"Alhamdulillah, I am happy. DDHK will be increasingly known from one friend to another. For example, friends who participate in the activities of the DDHK Al-Qur'an Clinic, can share their membership cards with their friends. It can make them more interested in joining DDHK programs,” said Puji.

He also emphasized that with its function as an Octopus Card, this DDHK membership card is very useful. In addition, it can be a means of broadcasting DDHK with all its programs.

“For example, we use shopping at ParknShop. When we pay, there are Hong Kong people who see it and want to know more about DDHK, we can promote DDHK's good programs," said Puji.

Puji also admitted that he was amazed by the Batik design on the DDHK membership card. "Wow, that's really Indonesia!

Batik is one of the characteristics of Indonesia. You must be happy, you feel like you are at home, in Java. If Hong Kong residents look at it, maybe they will also ask about the beautiful Indonesia," he said.

Puji believes that the existence of a special Batik-style membership card that functions as an Octopus Card can make DDHK members more active and proud to participate in DDHK activities. [DDHK News]
