Hong Kong Tightens Arrival Rules from Indonesia

Currently, Indonesia is categorized as a Group B location. Starting June 21, Indonesia will be listed as a Group A2 location. "The decision was taken after monitoring the development of the Covid-19 epidemic in Indonesia, the prevalence of mutant virus strains and the risk of importing cases that may be posed to Hong Kong.

“The government will continue to closely monitor the epidemic situation in various places, the prevalence of new virus variants, the progress of vaccinations, and changes in the volume of cross-border passenger traffic, and will adjust the mandatory boarding and quarantine requirements for people arriving at Hong Kong airport from these places. relevant to the situation," said a government spokesman.

All persons who have stayed at Group A2's designated place on the day of boarding to Hong Kong or for 21 days prior to that day must present proof of a negative nucleic acid test for COVID-19 on boarding, 72 hours before the scheduled flight departure time, as well as confirmation reservation of a room at a designated quarantine hotel in Hong Kong. Upon arrival in Hong Kong, they will be subject to a “test-and-hold” arrangement at the airport, and upon confirmation of a negative test result, they will then be required to take a designated transportation arranged by the Government to proceed to the designated quarantine hotel for mandatory quarantine. . They will undergo mandatory quarantine for 21 days at a designated quarantine hotel, with 4 tests to be carried out during that period. This is followed by a 7-day self-monitoring period and mandatory testing on the 26th day of arrival in Hong Kong at any Community Testing Centre.

The shortened quarantine period for fully vaccinated persons will not apply to persons arriving from and who have resided in a Group A2 designated place. [DDHK News]
