Government Rejects Macau's Total Lockdown Scenario

DDHK.ORG - Macau's Chief Executive or Head of Government, Ho Iat Seng, rejected the total population lockdown scenario. He is optimistic that the pandemic situation, which has recently experienced a drastic spike, can be handled immediately.

The Head of Government of Macau also confirmed the measures announced on Thursday, 23 June 2022, regarding the closure of all entertainment, sports and welfare venues at 17.00. This, together with the mandate to suspend the provision of services to the public from all restaurants, drinking establishments, and dining establishments for the consumption of food and beverages within their respective spaces, aims to break the chain of transmission of the virus.

At the same time, Ho Iat Seng asked the public not to panic in the face of the current Covid-19 outbreak. He emphasized that the supply of basic needs is guaranteed.
"Don't run to the supermarket, don't panic," he said.

Ho Iat Seng also appealed to the people of Macau not to panic or be afraid of this disease. The Head of Government reminded that of the 110 patients who were currently confirmed positive, most were asymptomatic and non-symptomatic, there were no cases in serious condition. [Source: TDM] [DDHKNews]
