DDHK Invites Indonesians to Help Those Who Are Self-Isolating and Quarantining

DDHK.ORG - In February 2022, the spread of the Omicron variant Corona outbreak continued to worsen in Hong Kong. Many Hong Kong residents, including Indonesian migrant workers, have tested positive and have had to undergo quarantine or self-isolation.

Imam Baihaqi, when delivering the financial report of the institution he leads, Tuesday, March 7, 2022.

In February 2022, Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong (DDHK) reported, raising a total donation of HK$40,252. In detail, based on the report, DDHK received zakat payment funds of HK$7,968. For infaq, DDHK recorded a donation of HK$29,257. DDHK also recorded a waqf fund income of HK$2,300 and humanitarian donations of HK$727.

Donations from Indonesian citizens in Hong Kong and Macau are collected by DDHK through several channels. Namely:

  7. Rupiah Account Transfer through Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) with number 500 5050 608, an Dompet Dhuafa Republica;
  8. Alms via SMS Telin by typing ZAKAT, INFAK, or WAKAF and sent to 333;

Since February and continuing until March, DDHK has also opened a donation service for those who are self-isolating or quarantined. Assistance can be provided via 7Eleven or Circle K, by showing the QR code provided by DDHK.

Throughout February 2022, DDHK had an expenditure of HK$91,461. The details are for operations, fundraising activities, social assistance, da'wah activities, providing training, and for humanitarian assistance.

Disaster and Social Assistance

In February 2022, DDHK distributed aid and compensation funds to 6 regions in Indonesia. Namely to Kendal, Cirebon, Magetan, Karawang, Malang, and Banyumas. All of this assistance was provided through the management of the da'wah partner taklim assemblies, as well as program participants and the DDHK Volunteer Team.

During this period, DDHK also provides assistance to migrant workers who are self-isolating and undergoing quarantine in Hong Kong. DDHK also provided assistance to the country, namely to Surabaya, Kediri, and Pekalongan.

This month DDHK provided shelter services to 8 Indonesian migrant workers in Hong Kong who needed temporary housing due to various factors. In addition, DDHK also made 2 visits to the hospital.

Media and Da'wah Sector

In the field of media and news, DDHK continues to publish news and information about the Islamic world, institutional activities, religious consultations, as well as the latest information from Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Macau. Including, about the latest news about the development and handling of the corona virus pandemic. A total of 32 news and articles were published through the website ddhk.org. While on social media, DDHK made 153 posts on the Facebook page Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong, 51 posts on Instagram, and 24 videos on Youtube channel DDHK News.

Through the da'wah program, DDHK provides 13 online consultations, 30 online religious tausiyah, and organizes 25 Qur'an learning classes, for adults, boys and girls, and children. “These activities were attended by 679 people, consisting of various groups. Namely, expatriates, Indonesian migrant workers, expatriate mothers, and children," said Imam Baihaqi.

DDHK also provides online tausiyah via WhatsApp messages and Facebook posts. This tausiyah message is given every day.

For the Migrant Class program, DDHK provides 3 English classes, 1 computer class, and 1 sewing class. "Due to restrictions on activities from the Government, we have closed our training classes and courses. Some of it is done online," said Imam Baihaqi. [DDHKNews]
